3 Essentials to Keep Your Skin Hydrated and Glowing During the Cold Months

As the temperature drops and the air becomes drier, our skin often takes the brunt of these changes. Dry, flaky skin is a common complaint during the colder months, but fear not, I have some easy tips to help you keep your skin hydrated and glowing all winter long.

1. Switch to a Cream Cleanser in the Mornings

The first tip is to switch your morning cleanser to a cream-based one. Cream cleansers are typically more hydrating than their foaming counterparts, which can strip the skin of its natural oils. But don't ditch your foaming cleanser altogether! Keep using it at night to thoroughly cleanse your skin of the day's grime and makeup.

One of my personal favorites is the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser. It's a fantastic product that leaves your skin feeling clean, soft, and most importantly, hydrated.

2. Use a Healing Balm on Dry Spots

The second tip is to use a healing balm on particularly dry spots, like the corners of your mouth and nose. These areas tend to dry out faster than the rest of your face, so giving them a little extra TLC can go a long way.

I recommend the Aquaphor Healing Balm Avocado Oil Shea Butter. It's a super nourishing balm that provides instant relief to dry, cracked skin. Plus, it's packed with skin-loving ingredients like avocado oil and shea butter. You can find it here.

The final tip is to layer a facial oil on top of your moisturizer at night. This helps to seal in the moisture and prevent Transepidermal water loss, which is when water passes out of your skin and into the air.

I'll recommend this to anyone! The Bijouskin Phyto-Lipid Tamanu Oil. It's a lightweight oil that absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling incredibly soft and supple. You can check it out here.

Remember, everyone's skin is different, so what works for me might not work for you. But I hope these tips can help you navigate the dry, cold months with ease. Stay hydrated, stay beautiful, and most importantly, stay warm!
